Our Opinion
First, it’s important to clarify that the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE is not a mid-range phone. We’ve seen several reviewers label it as such, which is inaccurate.
A device priced at $650 or Rs 65,000 cannot be categorized as mid-range. In Samsung’s lineup, this is clearly positioned as a lower-tier flagship.
While some Chinese brands may offer flagship phones in this price range, that does not change the fact that the Galaxy S24 FE is a flagship level model in Samsung’s product hierarchy.
Now, looking at other aspects, the Galaxy S24 FE does bring improvements over its predecessor, including better battery life, a larger display, and slightly improved cameras.
Regarding the camera, while the hardware remains the same as the Galaxy S23 FE and the base Galaxy S24, the newer Image Signal Processor (ISP) may offer a marginal improvement in photography. However, don’t expect a significant upgrade in camera performance.
As for the new Exynos 2400e processor, it scores 2114 in single-core and 6550 in multi-core performance tests—quite close to the standard Exynos 2400, but with a slight reduction in power. Essentially, the Exynos 2400e is a slightly downgraded version of the Exynos 2400.
While this CPU delivers solid everyday performance, it does have notable drawbacks. The Exynos chips tend to throttle and generate more heat compared to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors.
While real-world performance is yet to be thoroughly tested, you can expect smooth daily use, but with slight overheating and throttling issues during more demanding tasks.
The Galaxy S24 FE supports 7 years of software updates, which is impressive. However, how well this processor will hold up over that period remains to be seen.
The highly promoted Galaxy AI features, such as “Circle to Search,” “Live Translator,” “Note Assist,” “Sketch to Image,” and “Smart Select,” add convenience, though some are still not fully optimized. While it’s great to have these features, a few feel overhyped in their current form.
Overall, the Galaxy S24 FE is undeniably a solid phone, but it lacks the excitement that previous Galaxy FE models used to generate.
The pricing would feel more justified if the phone used a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip, but with the Exynos processor’s reputation, we don’t think the Galaxy S24 FE is worth $650 or Rs 65,000.
Our recommendation? Wait a few months for the price to drop—at a lower price point, this phone would offer much better value for money.
