HTC was once among the most iconic smartphone brands during the introduction of touchscreen technology in Android devices. They have produced popular phones like the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1, Nexus 1, and T-Mobile G1 (also known as HTC Dream).
Personally, many of us would love to see HTC reclaiming dominance in the Android flagship market, but it appears they have different strategies in mind.
Recently, HTC launched the HTC U24 Pro, an upper-midrange smartphone and the successor to last year’s HTC U23 Pro.
You might initially dismiss it as just another mid-range phone, but a closer look at the specs reveals that the HTC U24 Pro holds considerable promise.

Price and Availability
The HTC U24 Pro has been launched in Europe for €564, which translates to around $600 here in the USA.
If this phone enters the US market, it is expected to be priced lower than in Europe.
At the current price of €564, this smartphone is reasonably priced. While it may not offer the best value for money considering its specs, it’s certainly a solid contender.

Is HTC U24 Pro Worth Considering?
Just considering the specs and HTC’s past reputation, the HTC U24 Pro is definitely worth a look. However, whether this smartphone is truly worth it depends largely on its pricing.
If it launches for under $500 in the US, it could pose tough competition to other smartphones in this price range.
In Europe, the €564 price tag is somewhat justified. If it were priced at €450 or even €480, it would arguably be one of the best phones under that mark.
Nonetheless, at €564, it’s still worth considering. The HTC U24 Pro boasts a capable CPU, a good pair of cameras, a curved OLED display, 12GB of RAM, a memory card slot, and even a 3.5mm audio jack.
One area where HTC could have improved is the battery capacity. The 4600 mAh battery is average by today’s standards. Although it supports fast charging, wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging, a slightly larger battery, such as 5000 mAh, would have made it a top choice for users who prefer not to charge their phone multiple times a day.
The battery life on the HTC U23 Pro was just decent, and it was high time HTC included a bigger battery. Sadly, they didn’t, and the HTC U24 Pro is also expected to offer above-average battery life.
Nevertheless, considering the overall specs packed into the HTC U24 Pro, it remains a smartphone worth considering.
