Design
In recent leaks from OneLeaks and AndroidHeadline, it has been revealed that the Tab S10 Ultra will feature a design similar to the Tab S9 Ultra. The main difference will be a slight reduction in thickness, with the S10 Ultra being 0.05mm slimmer than its predecessor.
While this difference in thickness may not be noticeable in everyday use, Samsung has opted to maintain the existing design approach. The overall design will largely remain unchanged.
Users appreciated the functional design of the S9 Ultra, which may explain Samsung’s decision to stick with it. However, many were hoping for a refreshed design with some notable updates.

Display
The leaks also suggest that the S10 Ultra will have the same display size as the S9 Ultra, which is 14.6 inches.
Regarding the display technology, it is highly likely that Samsung will use the Dynamic AMOLED 2X HDR10+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, as seen in the predecessor.
While Samsung may slightly enhance the display quality, the core technology will likely remain the same.
It’s also worth noting that the notch present on the S9 Ultra will still be present on the S10 Ultra.
In terms of the display, we shouldn’t expect any significant upgrades.

RAM and Storage
The storage options will remain unchanged. Expect RAM options ranging from 12GB to 16GB, and storage options of 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.
The S9 Ultra featured UFS 3.1 storage, and there’s speculation that the S10 Ultra could upgrade to UFS 4.0.
Additionally, the RAM is expected to be DDR5 or higher.
Performance
The S9 Ultra was powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU, a top-tier flagship processor at its launch.
There’s speculation that Samsung may opt for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 if they launch the tablet by late January or early February. However, if the S10 Ultra debuts in Q4 2024, it could feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPU.
While the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 remains a strong performer among flagship CPUs today, launching a tablet in 2025 with an older-generation CPU might not be well-received.
Some rumors are suggesting Samsung might use their Exynos 2500 CPU, though we hope this isn’t the case. Despite claims about Exynos processors, they generally do not match Snapdragon CPUs in terms of performance and heat management.

Camera
The S10 Ultra will feature a dual rear camera and dual front camera setup, although the exact camera resolutions are currently unknown.
The S9 Ultra boasted a 13MP main camera and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. The main camera delivered excellent quality in both daylight and low-light conditions.
While the 8MP ultra-wide camera performed decently, it lacked detail, especially in low lighting.
We hope Samsung will upgrade this setup, as 8MP is considered outdated by today’s standards. A 50MP camera setup on the S10 Ultra would be highly desirable.
The dual 12MP front cameras on the S9 Ultra were also impressive, and maintaining the same resolution would still be acceptable.
In our opinion, Samsung should definitely upgrade the rear cameras this time around.

Battery
We aren’t expecting any significant changes in battery size. The S9 Ultra featured an 11,200 mAh battery, one of the largest available.
Battery life was excellent on the S9 Ultra, easily lasting a day even with heavy use.
So, even if Samsung doesn’t increase the battery capacity significantly, it would still be acceptable, given the S9 Ultra’s large battery size.
However, one area for improvement should be charging speed. The S9 Ultra took over 2 hours to fully charge with its 45W charger. Therefore, upgrading to at least a 60W charger would be highly appreciated.
It’s worth noting that, like its predecessor, the S10 Ultra will not include a charger in the box.
Pricing
Considering that the Tab S10 Ultra isn’t a substantial upgrade over the S9 Ultra, pricing may remain similar to last year at $1,199.
However, if Samsung introduces significant upgrades and equips all Tab S10 variants with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, we might see a price increase of around $100.
Yet, a price tag of $1,299 would be quite steep for a tablet, so hopefully, Samsung will refrain from increasing it.
Unfortunately, Samsung hasn’t provided any updates on pricing, so we’re uncertain at this point.

Our Analysis and Conclusion
Based on all the leaks and rumors so far, it appears the S10 Ultra will be an upgraded version of the S9 Ultra with improvements to the CPU and cameras.
It’s not expected to be a significant upgrade, suggesting pricing could remain similar to last year’s model.
The S9 Ultra was and continues to be an excellent choice, so we hope the S10 Ultra maintains this level of excellence and builds upon it.
While we await further details on what changes Samsung will implement in the S10 Ultra, even if they don’t make substantial upgrades beyond necessary improvements, it should still be a commendable device, regardless of whether they adjust the price.
